Redmond

 

Redmond is a scenic park-like community in Washington, about fifteen miles from Seattle. It’s surrounded by nature, trees, and trails, simultaneously providing the luxury of country and city living. Redmond has a large population, but it’s spacious, giving residents peace and privacy while enjoying all the trappings of city life. The climate is ideal, and the school system is highly rated, making Redmond an incredible place to live and plant roots.

Living in Redmond provides locals an active lifestyle full of outdoor attractions, a high bike rating, and numerous parks, pubs, restaurants, and coffee shops. It's a highly energetic community that does a great job of creating walkable paths and trails. You'll see people out on foot, biking, or riding public scooters around the city. If you enjoy staying in shape and spending time outdoors, Redmond is the place to be. The town is lively, the people are kind, and many events and celebrations keep you busy throughout the year. Residents enjoy being close to nearby cities such as Seattle, Bellevue, and Kirkland, yet are still removed and secluded in a suburban area where they have privacy and access to nature pockets.

 

Downtown Redmond has a mix of eclectic establishments ranging from old-fashioned vibes to a modern environment. Redmond Square is where you'll find various shops, restaurants, bars, and a modern environment. Everything in downtown Redmond is within walking distance, whether you're looking for a salon or barbershop, fitness class, restaurant, or to do some shopping. 

 

The IPIC Movie Theater offers a unique luxury experience with plush seats and signature meals and drinks. Palmer’s Bar is known for its fantastic breakfast options. Residents do some shopping in downtown Redmond and the rest in Bellevue. The Redmond Town Center is an urban-village outdoor mall with a waterfall playground and plenty of places to grab food, coffee, or ice cream. Locals usually come here, but if they want variety and a larger shopping experience, they'll head over to Bellevue Square. 

 

Nonetheless, downtown Redmond has many food options, such as The Matador and Redmond’s Bar and Grill. There are also grocery and home improvement stores nearby, including Whole Foods and Home Depot. Redmond is in a convenient location where residents are not required to leave their city for essentials or entertainment.

 

Redmond is large enough to be divided into two zip codes. You'll find one area to be more industrial than the other, thanks to Microsoft headquarters residing here. The other is more residential, with larger homes and acres of land. Redmond is full of things to do, but Seattle and Bellevue are just a short drive away.

 

You can park your car and explore the town on foot or bike, as Redmond was designed to be walkable. Some paved sidewalks and trails take you on a scenic route through the city and all the way to Seattle. There's also a friendly farmers' market where you can get fresh local produce.

 

Redmond has a festival called Derby Days in the summer, where the community gets together and competes for prizes, contests, and races. It's a long-standing annual occasion in Redmond that locals look forward to. Events like this draw people together and create a close-knit community. 

 

Marymoor Park is an inclusive park with many events, soccer fields, and baseball diamonds. The park hosts picnics and outdoor movie nights on the field in the summertime. They bring out the projector, and you can lie out in the grass and have a movie night with friends and family. Redmond is a beautiful community to become a part of.
